James Hutchison has a postgraduate diploma in Garden Design from the Inchbald School of Design in London.

He won Best in Show and a Silver Gilt medal for his Show Garden at Gardening Scotland in 2001 and Best in Show and a Gold medal in 2003.

He has designed gardens all over the UK from compact city centre spaces and rooftops to large country gardens in a huge range of environments and to many different briefs.

James Hutchison Garden Design has been awarded Best of Houzz Customer Service 2016 and 2017.

James is fortunate to have Guy Chapman managing the landscaping team. Guy is the guy that gets it done! Decking, fencing, paving, walling, driveways, and laying turf; Guy and his team are efficient and expert landscapers with many years of experience and an eye for detail.

When it comes to knowing the right plant for the right place, James and Guy have Stuart Gibson at hand to lend his formidable plant knowledge. He trained at Threave Gardens and went on develop his skills at Malleny Garden in Balerno. Stuart has been working with James since 2001.
