Country Garden in West Stirlingshire
Large Garden
A hefty 800 tonnes of bedrock was shifted from beneath two acres of nettles, brambles and bog at the start of the 2 year project to create this garden. In an exposed site tree planting and wall construction were used to provide shelter from fearsome westerly winds.
The area is broken up into four interlinked gardens separated by random rubble sandstone walls and level changes. Each space is given a strong character by the disciplined use of planting. This garden was featured in Homes & Gardens October 2010 issue.
